If you are not familiar with the Pachmayr mount, you may not be aware that the top part of the mount can be detached and reattached by manipulating the knurled knob mounted on the axis of the hinge. Top parts of Pachmayr mounts are not that hard to find and interchange with the bases without special fitting, so if you want to change scopes, you can do so simply be substituting a new top part for the one presently on the rifle.
