I bought these for very reasonable prices at a relatively small local gunshow last weekend, a 1914 Oberndorf Mauser Type S 7x57 and a 1948 Brno 22F 8x57JS. Can someone identify the scope for me? I don't know much about early American scopes. Weaver? I can't find any markings on it. It seems to be a 2.5X. Reticle is one horizontal line and a tapered post. Its actually very clear and perfectly positioned for rapid target acquisition. Both bores are very good. All matching numbers on both. Blue on both seems all original and at least 90%. The Brno maybe a bit less. Very well maintained working rifles. It is interesting to note that unlike my near new cond. 1945 Brno 22F this 1948 Brno has no guide rib and the clip loading slot is not cut. (Last photo is of the 1945 22F and you can clearly see that it has a guide rib and clip loading slot). 1948 BRNO 22F 1945 BRNO 22F |
