Eagle27, the profile of the Type A Oberndorf stock is great for comparison. It does appear to me that both examples of Westley Richards stocks have a bit longer grip area than the type A Mauser. Checkering is very close. The forearms appear similar. I assume the forearm mounted swivel stud on you Oberndorf is not original. The Type A does have a very British look. Its possible the type A is where British styling originated. Someone smarter than me will have to say which came first, the Chicken or the Egg.....
Please don't be modest. Anyone with Original British Mausers, show off your pride and joy! Profile pictures of the stock would be the most helpful.

Well spotted, yes the forearm swivel stud is not original, I installed it for using a bipod at the range, I would remove it when using the rifle on game as it is up against my forehand. Perhaps need to install a recessed socket for a QD stud. Not traditional but then neither is the scope mounted that way, just effective.
As I understand it the Type A Mausers were designed with the British market in mind and had quite a long length of pull for off hand shooting by the tall Englisher.
