I agree, the Schweinsruecken hump on the stock looks out of place and the shotgun style trigger guard as well, but Mauser was pretty accommodating in those days and there's no telling what they would do if the customer was willing to pay. I have to admit, however, that the finished rifle came out better than I remembered. The serial number of 40486 is also somewhat of a mystery.
