Here is the difference between US and European approach in scope mounting. When you use a quick detachable claw mount, you need to turn upside down the objective in order to put the front claws in their base, then the scope is lowered and the rear mount is automatically locked in the rear base. If the customer wants a big scope - here it's a Z6 Swarovski 2,5-15x44 - you haven't other alternative than to put the front ring forward on the bell. Indeed you could prefer a Talley type mount, but a good built claw one is faster and returns to zero repeatedly. Even if it's a very consuming job to do and a costly option, European customers still prefer that kind of mount… sorry, but we like it too ! We make also English style side mounts, traditional old style Griffin & Howe (in steel), side swing Apel and Recknagel and a lot of Talley. Thank you for your comments, they will help us. DORLEAC |
