My apologies to my friend Joel Dorleac for the delay in posting this picture. He sent me 15 pictures but only one came through in two attempts. I shall await the rest when he has time. In his description (loosely translated from French): These are pictures of a rifle recently completed while in the white. The rifle can be used with a choice of two scopes - a Swarovski Z6 2.5-15x44 as shown, or a 3.5-14x42 Leica. The rifle accepts both perfectly. The barrel is a Heym finished at 26". The action is a Mauser modified for the 300 H&H with a magnum magazine and a Deeley tilt lock closure. The rifle was built to evoke the classic English Plains Game rifles but adapted to shoot naturally with a scope. Please note how the scope mounts low for a Mauser and how we have mounted the rings as far apart as possible to reduce stresses on the scope body. The direct trigger has also been reshaped to make the rifle very comfortable to shoot. The rifle has been engraved and inlaid in gold. I shall wait for more pictures. My apologies to Joel again for the delay on my side. Good hunting, everyone! |
