Thanks pato, have seen that , but as I see it, your rifle must have been rebarrelled to that caliber as can be seen on the barrel shank. It lacks the rifle number, Mauser used to place there and the digits of the caliber designation are of modern type . I guess that a look to the underside of the barrel shank will show that there are no markings of the typical Oberndorf proof marks, rate of twist and exact caliber designation (groove and land diameter). If so I´m surely not right. Lancasters extract from the norwegian catalog also show no completely Commercial Oberndorf rifles as a closer look to the barrel contours and front sight ramp will reveal. |
