The bolt knob does end up quite a bit higher in relation to the trigger on these Schulers than on most Mausers, but what really matters is the grip orientation to the trigger - which isn't really altered. After all, you need to remove your hand from the grip to operate the bolt in either case. In it's day, this would have been the hunter's primary medium/heavy game rifle and the need to adapt from one gun to another probably wouldn't have been much of a consideration. Then, as now, practice makes perfect!
