The one thing which bothers me about this design is common to other Schuler designs I have seen. In the interest of expanding magazine capacity, the entire magazine/trigger guard unit is dropped what appears to be about 3/4" below the normal level, changing the relationship between trigger and bolt handle, which I would find disturbing. The more modern method of dropping the floor of the magazine box down to about midway in the trigger guard bow preserves the relationship trigger to bolt handle in a more satisfactory manner and keeps the stock from appearing too deep at the magazine, while at the same time increasing magazine capacity. |
