About the stock finish... you mentioned alkanet root as a colouring agent, did you use it steeped in the (boiled?) linseed oil finish? Or mixed with spirit to stain the bare walnut?

Love the soft glow from the wood, be very interested in hearing more about how you achieved such a great result...
