Beautiful work.
The safety is a? ID needed for my own job.
The safety was a standard 98 3-position designed by Pete Grisel and now sold by Dakota Arms. I trimmed the flange to fit the smaller action and also machined the body of the shroud to follow the internal cuts a little more like a real 98 shroud. A few buttress threads on the shroud had to be trimmed to match the miniX and the Double D shaped hole drilled out and a bushing that fits the firing pin inserted in the DD place. The nose of the cocking piece gets shortened on my little Hardinge Horizontal mill with a spiral milling attachment. This allows me to keep the helix that matches the cocking cam in the back of the bolt. It's a lot of work to fit one of these safeties to a miniX, but well worth the effort.
