Re: New Fred Adolph Kurz Mauser in Don S's collection

I have always found Fred Adolph's work interesting, so when Michael Petrov decided to part with this little jewel from his collection I could not walk away. Some of Adolph's stock carving can be over the top along with heavy engraving but I think this piece has been tastefully done. In my eyes this rifle exhibits perfect proportions. Most of Adolph's work was done on Springfield actions and is seldom signed. This one being done on an Oberndorf Kurz action in 6.5x54 around 1911-12 and signed on the barrel rib "Adolpf Mauser" made it special. Octagonal to round barrel with full rib, widows peak trap door buttplate, and fluted grip cap just makes it better. Enjoy
