Square Bridge type G

I just picked up this unusual 8X60 magnum Mauser square bridge from ca. 1931 (chambered in 8X60 Magnum - not a magnum length action).
Got this one from Cabelas - listed as a postwar custom sporter...
Huvius - 2 / Cabelas - 0

Anyway, Dons has shed some light on this gun for me and has identified it as a typeG.
The forend shape may not be original but the rest of the rifle is in pretty good shape. It is similar to some "African" models I have seen but with a 24" barrel.
It has rings too and a modern Leupold scope.
