Tinker: Had to investigate my sight hood. It took a while to figure it out but the hood has 4 round pins on the inside. To remove the hood, you just lift up the back of the hood (which snaps out of 2 spring loaded detents) and push forward until the front pins slide out of the groove. The screw at the muzzel retains the spring. It looks and operates differently than yours but is definitely factory original. Just a change in the quick disconnect design.
