Thanks for the welcome. The 7x57 I am building on a 1908 DWM is at the gunsmiths for final work to be done. he is making a set of bases that are low to the reciever ring AND the bridge with the bridge base having a radiused, raised recoil stop on the front edge. Will use a set of different height Ruger rings with the locating studs ground off and the knurled knobs replaced by a set of Warne levers to make them QD, however primary sighting will be a striker mounted aperture that we are waiting for to arrive, Hence the need for the bases to both be low and unobtrusive as the 4 power scope will be carried in a day pack and not on the rifle to upset its unencumbered balance.I am not clever enough to be able to post pictures but if anyone is willing to post them for me when the rifle is returned I will email them to him. Will send a few of the 404 I built on a FN Colombian as well. Might even add one of a .33 inch group the 404 put up at 55 yds off the bench and through aperture sight.
