Re: 88MauSporter's "new" Husqvarna Model 46 9.3x57

Well, Bob scooped me on the photos, but he had them first! Nice job on the photos. Todd Johnson did a great job with the rifle. He did just as I wanted and few others that were better than my ideas at first.
Work done on this M46 9.3x57 Husky:
Clean and de-oil the stock and clean up the action from old crud, etc.
Repair the hair line wrist crack to almost invisable.
Full glass bed.
Drill and tap and install the Warne mounts.
I wanted the classic "mauser" shape of the bolt handle. No sweep, sharp angle and straight bolt handle.
Todd did the alternation enough to clear the scope with the high rings but keep the very nice configuration. If I didn't know he did it, it is hard to tell from the original, except it actually looks better!
I wanted to keep the original cocking piece and cock on closing. This was a new one for the side swing safety operation. This he had done with flare. It works great. Fast, smooth and very secure.
Stock finish was clearned and sealed with lots of dents removed, but still showing the "history" of use. He put a nice "original" looking satin finish.
A replacement of the butt plate (mine was bad) for an original that Todd found.
The scope is mounted. A Leupold 2-7. In spite of the high rings, standing, the rifle comes to shoulder with my eye in the middle of the scope. I will have a shooting report as soon as I can get to the range to sight and check the irons and the scope.
