Ken Stewart still regularly supplies his bullets to folk in Zambia who take buf with this calibre! I'd be hesitant (especially since I've got better medicine for that) When I get a load sorted out I'd love to try it on blue wildebeest.
One of the attractive qualities of the 9x57 is that if a bit overbore, common US .35 cal {.358} bullets may work fine, and regardless, simple drawing dies can be obtained to size common .358's down to proper dimensions, similarly to what I do with .375's down to 9.3 caliber, tho less sizing is needed for the 9x57. At 9x57 velocities, I bet the garden run bulk Remington Core-Lokt 200 RN's would be great for most critters up to a few hundred pounds. Controlled expansion .35's can be sized down for top performance on heavier game.
