I agree with pjaln, the rifle looks exactly like the Type A Oberndorf's I have seen or owned, and has the extra thick floorplate too, by the look of it. The stock reeks factory Mauser too, right down to the checkering pattern and the execution of the borders. If you get your hands on John Speeds book all will be revealed.

The British gun trade often retailed rebadged Oberndorfs, and only rarely bettered the basic quality of these rifles. You have a nice little gem here, and a good shooter to. Nice on Wapiti.

The sling swivel base in the butt looks like the ones Cogswell fitted..........
