I really like this rifle! A tasteful "modern classic" to my mind with a nice mix of features reflecting English and continental styling. I suspect it was made for a New Zealander (John K, you bought it second hand, right?)with the stag on the floorplate and the chamois on the action. Also, I have seen other "mountain" guns without forend checkering. I figure the thought is that it is too easy to scar the forend checkering when hunting in rocky and treed areas, so why do it. Great action! Great style! Great gun! Congrats! |
