Rolf's 400-350 Rigby

My apologies to Rolf for the delay in posting these pictures of his 400-350 Rigby rifle. I hope that this delay has made it as worth enjoying as a finely aged wine.

Thanks to Rolf for sharing these pictures and happy viewing and good hunting, everyone!

Re: Rolf's 400-350 Rigby

Gentlemen,

thank Mehul for posting these photos...

The rifle shoots very good with 250grs Hornady SPRN and adequate with Woodleigh 310grs SPRN.
It might be that the velocity is too low for stabilizing the 310grs bullet, due to my very conservative loading approach.

best regards
Rolf

Re: Rolf's 400-350 Rigby

Hi Rolf,

This is from the book by Graeme Wright the author of "Shooting the British Double Rifle" and is used by a lot of Australian shooters / hunters as a reference guide including myself. I hope it may help with your loads, normal reloading safety measures to be taken but as these loads are for a D.R. they should be more than safe in a bolt action rifle.

Cheers,

Jeff Gray

Rolf that is a fine rifle. Love the svelte stocking.

Have you shot it much? What does it weigh?

Best wishes, Chris

Re: Rolf's 400-350 Rigby

Hello Gentlemen,

@ Chris:
of course I do not shoot this rifle very much, I want to keep it in good condition!
Itīs a pretty lightweight rifle, on weekend I can weigh it and provide data on Monday.

@rigby
I have to measure the twist for calculating the bullet weight
Data also on Monday!

best regards
Rolf

Re: Rolf's 400-350 Rigby

Rolf, I wish that Rigby was mine but it belongs to a close friend. It might be for sale and if you are interested in nice Rigby's get ahold of Lon Paul www.lonpaulcustomguns.com or e-mail Lon Paul <tanglewoodguns@hotmail.com>; He is one of the most knowledgable folks on older Rigbys.
