Re: another M 95 sporter

I just came into a stutzen stocked M95 in what seems to be 8mm Mauser from an auction. It was not well described, but the pics were decent enough to generate a lowball bid that was successful. It has a welded/fixed extractor hook that does not permit the bolt head to be locked in the extended position, thus requiring inventive use of a weaver scope clamp-bar to hold the head forward while the bolt is inserted. Further, the bolt face has a spacer fitted to the original case head-diameter that does not allow the use of anyrimmed cartridge, but fits the 8mm Mauser perfectly. Came with one standard clip that does well enough to hold and feed the 8x57 cartridges in place for feeding. This is not a factory/Yugo conversion as no clip guide is milled into the rear bridge. I have not miked the bore as yet.

Standard acorn bolt handle and double set triggers.

Rear sights are a fixed standing notch for 100, and folding leaves for 200 and 300. Front sight is a non-factory bronze post, obviously fitted by a past owner and filed to profile and height.

Here’s hoping it is an older 8x50R bore or newer 8x57 barrel with a .323 bore, if not, well, we’re off to the races again on a new quest for bullets that will fit and shoot!
