Thanks fellows, I've never seen one of those before. I wonder if the cock on closing would be beneficial in a M-S? I find the bolt to be hard to run from the shoulder with the M-S unless the stock is shortened to reduce the reach to the handle. Of course, it can be dropped from the shoulder without problems but, I prefer to keep it mounted.
I tend to flip the bolt upward with my forefinger ('index finger'), then run it back in a continuous motion. To close I push forward with thumb and it snaps closed smartly as my hand takes position to fire.
I'm a six footer with fairly long arms, though. The MS' length of pull is just right for me if not a tad short.
