Re: M1910 Take Down Model

Rothhammer, Thanks for posting. This is an interesting article.

I noticed at the end that Daniel Fraiser is now building best quality rifles using recycled vintage Mannlicher-Schoenauer actions. I hope they are not taking nice vintage MS rifles and using those actions.

A conundrum, that, such as whether to restore or to customize desirable vintage automobiles.

Just as 1932 Fords and such were once common junk yard fodder, Y1903 'Greek Contract' MS and later variants of Y1903/14, Y1903/14/27, and 'System 1930' were once available for sub discount prices at sporting goods stores across the U.S.

It now would be considered blasphemy by many to 'hot rod' a purely 'stock' 1932 Ford and there is an ever increasing appreciation of Twentieth Century surplus military arms in their original form.

Hopefully Fraser is using parts from or otherwise already buggered 'sporterized' military actions or otherwise pre - abused MS sporting arms.

This, for instance, has been listed on Ebay for months: Ebay Take Down Triggerguard and Lever .

It is pricey, but for the Take Down Model and could be used to build a TD from other MS parts and a fabricated forend pin.
