I made an early trip to the range today. I took the 1893 Steyr along with my 1905MS, 1910MS and my Ross M1910. It was a great day at the range. All 4 rifles performed nicely. The little 1893 shot well with the load that I use in my 1903MS. My load consists of Hornady SP 129gr with 33.5gr of IMR4064. I shot this group at 50 yards. The front sight is very tiny and I expect groups to improve once I get the aperture sight repaired. Just for kicks, I decided to see if I could ring the gong at 200 yards. I flipped up the 200 yard sight and aimed at the lower end of the gong and managed to hit it 4 out of 4 times! Did I say that I love this little rifle? Sorry that I couldn't figure out how to rotate the image. ![]() |
