Just about finished with my 1893 project when I ran into a minor issue. The front trigger guard/ receiver screw broke at the interface between the threads and shaft while I was carding it after boiling. It looked like there was a flaw in the metal. I tried to see if a replacement screw was available from Numrich but it was an incorrect thread size. I have an excellent gunsmith near me who will be fabricating a replacement. As soon as this is complete, I will post pics of the finished project.
In the meantime, I will be loading some ammo for the old girl. I'm going to start out with loads that have been very accurate in my MS1903 using both 129 and 16o grain Hornady bullets. I'm very anxious to head to the range and punch some hole in paper with her.
