I have to say that while the Mannlicher Schoenauer is certainly very smooth I have always found that the original Mannlicher rifle such as the Model 1895/92 to be the smoothest of all. In part this is helped by the large bolt knob that these rifles have, but also the close tolerances of the mating parts and the high standard that these rifles were finished.
