I just purchased a 1908 MS to add to my collection. Because I love to punch holes in paper and in deer, I decided to fabricate a bolt shroud aperture sight. I purchased an old Marbles sight that I thought could be converted into an aperture sight for Mannlichers. This sight is compact and has both windige and elevation adjustment. I cut off the receiver mounting bracket and silver soldered it to an extra bolt shroud nut. I also shortened the end of an extra firing pin to reduce interference. I'm happy with the outcome. Looking forward to getting some ammo made and hitting the range. |
