I wouldn't fault it for being a half stock rather than a stutzen.

When you're at the range with people who think they have a 'Mannlicher' just because their whatever make rifle has a stutzen stock you can say, "No, this is a Mannlicher" while showing them your half stocked genuine Mannlicher Schoenauer and what makes it so.
