I just picked up a beautiful Steyr Mannlicher MCA .30-06 Springfield. A very useful chambering but not one of my favorites. I am considering having it rebored to 9.3x62mm Mauser. The only issue is the magazine. It will take 2 rounds down but the neck is just a hair to big to allow any more rounds in the mag. It looks like the "fingers" that come up on the outside of the mag around the spool could be slightly Dremeled or filed to alleviate the binding and allow a full mag. Has anyone done this? Were you successful? Is it a stupid idea? I want a Mannlicher 9.3x62 but the cheapest of the 2 factory guns I have seen was over $4000.
