There is a reason why it´s so short. Most finnish factory loads used to have very light, only 5,1 g weight bullet. Most of those 7x54 caliber rifles have so low barrel twist that the heaviest acceptable bullet is 10,1 g and it´s shape should be like cylinder with round nose. I have it´s "cousin" i.e. 7x53R and it has very same "problem".
