Interesting first year of manufacture Mannlicher-Schönauer mod. 1910 rifle delivered by Österreichischen Waffenfabrik-Gesellschaft Steyr to the Army & Navy Co-operative Society, Ltd.
It's the first export model for the English market, fitted with a 24" barrel bearing specific sighting devices with two wide V leaves rear sight and banded front sight backwards one inch of barrel mouth.
Like all mod. 1910 this rifle is chambered for the 9.5x57 M-S known also as the .375 Rimless Nitro Express.
The rifle is built in the so-called "take-down" version or more precisely "detachable stock", an ingenious disassembly system that has the advantage of retaining the original headspace while reducing the length of the assembly to that of the stock. This system was immediately adopted by Westley-Richards in 1912 and then by H&H, which used it continuously from the 1920s to the present day.
The 14¼" LOP stock is in good European walnut, it retains its original steel curved trapped steel butt plate while the black horn grip cap unlocks by pushbutton uncovering a reserve in which a spare bead front sight is preserved.
The whole rifle retains the majority of its untouched factory finishes and the almost unaltered bluing on the bolt head is evidence of moderate use and extremely low number of shots.
The rifle lies in its original leather and canvas case with vintage label.
