I actually had once bought a partial new one of these mounts, The front ring and base only. Eventually I sold it to fund another project.

If they could be made with a somewhat reasonable price it would be great. There are some close tolerances so I'm not sure how feasible that would be. Anyone have a CNC milling machine in the workshop?
