Lance, I couldn't find that old King sight in any old catalog I have, and as rare as those Remington made 1907/15 Mannlicher Berthier rifles were in this country I doubt it was made specifically for it. I imagine it was adapted to fit the the long solid front of the cocking piece. In the current Rifle magazine I see John Barsness has a photo of his 1903 MS with a modern, inexpensive aluminum peep sight screwed on it. That would be the cheapest and most solid was to go. The old Lyman 36 sights are rare and bring well over $300 on E-bay and I have one on my 1903 and it works OK but is spring loaded and swings out of the way and then back every time you work the bolt. |
