I think a lot of European guns unapologetically come with plastic trigger guards and other bits of bottom metal because there is a long history in Europe of using horn for these pieces, and its only a small step from horn to plastic (some people can't even seem to tell them apart)...but its a much bigger step from steel to plastic.
