You are correct about the diameter of the Texan it is 7/8. But the rings are 1 inch and the previous owner stuffed some paper into the rings as a shim.

You are also correct about the vintage euro scopes not having a windage adjustment. Will have to re-think that one... Maybe a nice vintage Weaver ....
