Yes Sarg - that white wood needed sealing, I thought. Here, an unfinished interior is the recipe for swelling, poi change and possibly a broken/cracked stock during the hunting season. Usually, we're quite a dry area, average humidity is only 50% - but in the fall, it can rain on you every day of your hunt and thoroughly soak your rifle - every day. Same in Alaska, but with even more rain. Not only the metal, but the wood needs protection too. |
