I'm trying to determine if it's an ammo problem, or a feed ramp problem. Awhile back Grafs got in the Prvi Partisan (sp?) 6.5x54 ammo, 156g. Ordered several boxes since I didn't know how long they'd have it. I had a little Kynoch 160g and some Czech of approx same length/wt. I took the PPU out and loaded the mag, it wouldn't feed. Shot a couple as single feed. Came home and compared the 3 examples I had. The other 2 brands feed fine in my carbine. They are more rounded and the PPU is slightly more pointed and just a tad shorter OAL. Has anyone else tried the blue/white box PPU 156g 6.5x54 in a 1903 carbine? Any issues? Any success in getting it to feed? At least it was cheap and I have brass, but I was hoping I found a reliable source of ammo for this caliber. Thanks, Greg |
