It debents on which kind of load you make and which bullet to use. In skandinavia for example 6mmBR is quite popular for long range bird hunting. Those ranges could be 150-200 meter when shooting Lyrurus tetrix in autumn when they begin to live in bigger herds. In Sweden you could hunt Tetrao urogallus shortly even in winter time.
