I got back from the slope Friday and picked up my MS. It was waiting for me at my dealer. He said he had some guy interested in it before I got home. I am always amazed every time I handle one of these little carbines just how well made they are. This one has some honest wear and as you can see was shortened at one time, I expect for a youth, and lengthened to the original LOP. I like a rifle with some history. The bore is great and it appears to have been well cared for but not babied. The stock needs a little cleaning from a couple of sticky labels I peeled off. I am excited to get to the range tomorrow to try a few loads. It will be a day for classics as I am taking the 35, 375 and 400 Whelens along with the little MS. The Mannlicher came with the Swarovski 4x and has an interesting quick release mechanism. I am not too well educated on the mounts for these rifles. I'll be curious to see if the scope returns to zero reliably. Here's a few pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
