M-Sch serial number 299 is 1927 also. Any markings on the barrel reinforce, where a Sequoia serial number would be, are covered by the soldered-on ring base for the Steyr "factory optional" snap-on scope mount. I am not curious enough to unsolder this base, fearing not getting it soldered back in exactly the same position.
