BTW, your rifle looks like a typical George Gibbs, Bristol, GB, sporter to me. Gibbs not only sold these marked with their own address, but also supplied other "name" gunmakers, such as Atkin, Purdey, Holland & Holland and Rigby. These Gibbs Mannlichers are easily identified by a Gibbs B - prefix serial number. My own Gibbs M95, receiver dated 1899 too, is # B3085, while my Gibbs M1900 Mannlicher-Schoenauer, dated 1901, is # B3452. Often the final retailers added their own serial numbers, such as Purdey's A-prefix number on my M1900.
