My wife's grandfather has a MS from the 50's, came from the factory with the bolt peep sight option.
I don't recall if it was marked at all -- the sight you saw might have come from Lyman directly to the factory without trade marks.
Next time I see the family MS I'll look closer, possibly someone here can share details from their own collection.
