Pato has a double for the same cartridge and seems to be all over loading these. I will borrow a few rounds from him for a start. Its the least he can do as its his fault i became interested in these rifles. As a side note i have been looking into the name on the butt plate and found a Major James Orr Ewing in the 16th Lancers who was killed in the Boer War in 1900. Would have to assume it was the owner. May have had the rifle on order or the family had it made? University of Glasgow are doing on archive search of the Army Navy documents and hopefully can come up with the original transaction. They have a handy service for anyone researching Army Navy Store records. |
