just got an answer "the M 88 spring is 120 mm long with 33 turn's, inside 8,9mm. very similar is the M 1904 Vergueiro spring with 27 turn's" confuse me a little bit because my M 88 and m 92 spring's have 27 turn's! I believe he hade just mixed up the two spring's when looking after this. I have an Vergueiro spring but it's on the bench of my gunmaker now. interesting question worth to be cleared. five minute's later: ok, no pic of a Vergueiro spring available, try to count them here at 2:53 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkUDEKmlewg and end with 27 turn's dont wonder about this because this rifle is a combination of M 88 and m 98 part's + the new bolt sleeve, bolt head and a little changed firing pin.Portugal would like to have the Mannlicher Schönauer M 1903 than but it was to expensive. so DWM was made a look alike with the things they allways had. the M 88 spring with 33 turn's must be a later made replacement part. Turkey for example rework old M 88 rifle's after WW 1 sometime with new barrel's and complete bolt's made by the Czechs. also available spring for the Mannlicher 92/95 http://www.historica-shop.eu/Ersatzteile...embrug-M95.html and the Vergueiro http://www.historica-shop.eu/Ersatzteile...tugal-1904.html |
