Mounting a scope on a 1903.....

Hello all.
I got it, my first Mannlicher Schönauer 1903 carabin 6.5x54 MS.
It needs restoration, a new barrel and a new finish.
But, it is a Mannlicher, original, so I am happy.
It now only got the open sights and I like to add a scope on it. But, what kind of scope mount will fit, be best? Yes, original is best....But hard to get. Anyone who reproduce the original?
The original finish, what was it called? A gunsmith I talked with sad it was not bluing, but more a red looking finsish to them original. Really?
