IMHO this is one of the rare "Remo" 3-shot repeating rifles. Made in small numbers during the 1920s by Gebrueder Rempt, Jagdgewehrfabrik, Rimbachstr. 39, Suhl. This action, like the Haenel and Schmidt&Habermann actions, could not compete with the well-established Mausers and Mannlicher-Schoenauers, let alone the countless military surplus M98 actions available post-WW1 for building sporting rifles. Consequently, these rifles are quite rare today.

The safety, bolt stop and cartridge stop are giveaways to identify the Remo.
