I too own a Steyr S dated 1994/95 in .300Wm and I agree with your comments,It is a great shooting rifle, with a glass smooth action.

If it was possible to replace the bottom plastic and trigger guard with aftermarket metal parts, It would be even better.

Can you please let me know where you bought your replacement parts, I might just buy one set to be on the safe side. Also I´ve been playing in my head with the idea of changing the front sight on my rifle, but due to the unusual attachment sistem I could not find a suitable one yet, do you know of a bead type front sight that can be mounted on “older” steyrs
