The side safety came about around 1952 and the scope mounts might also be post-war. My Model 1903 6,5x54 MS was made in 1928, for instance, but the mounts, which look to be the same as yours, were post-war (c. 1960's) type and fitted much later by the gunsmith who later sold it to me. The manufacture date of your rifle will be perhaps hidden by the stock. If you find a number sequence like 969.51 it'll mean the 969th proof of the year 1951. The scope may predate the rifle, but it looks pretty there and if it works, why change it ?, (I wouldn't) Optical coatings only came about in the 1940's, so the glass will be clear, not coated.
