As your scope is marked by the retailer Collath, it was likely not marked by the actual maker Fuess, as Collath probably was not interested to let his customers know where he got his fine scopes. This was common practice with the European guntrade then. Well, recoil and muzzle blast are felt different by different men. For instance, many complain about the recoil of a 30-06, which appears nearly recoilless to me. The "boom" of the 20" 9.5 to me is far less annoying than the high-pitched "crack" of a 26" barrel .300 Magnum or 6.5x68.
