I am aware of the profusion of German side mounts, both pre-and post War, plus American side mounts, such as the Neidneer and the Noske, but I base my speculation on the large number of Griffin & Howe mounts I have owned and examined. If you examine the Griffin & Howe mount shown here: http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat....true#Post150224 the resemblance to the one on the M 88 is overwhelming: the shape and location of the levers, the shape and location of the windage screw, the number and location of the mounting screws all point to G&H. |
